 We flew into London Heathrow Airport, arriving at 0630
the day the cruise began. We took a National Express bus from Heathrow to Southampton (National
Express is similar to Greyhound in the US). Our bus was non-stop and took about 90 minutes.
The cost was very reasonable. |
 We took a taxi from the bus station
to the pier, and arrived quite early. Princess had a large waiting room in a former warehouse where
we and the many other early arrivers waited until we boarded the Royal Princess at 1230. We had a
snack in the Lido Cafe and then took a nap to help our jet lag. We got up to experience the
departure at 1700. A jazz band was playing on the dock as we sailed.
