Pacific Electric Railway 1947-49

A closer view of the Hollywood cars at the West Hollywood Car Barn obtained by cropping and not reducing the scan of the previous slide. To me, the detail and color of the 55 year old 35mm Kodachrome slides is amazing!

The motorman sat in the center at the front of the car. There was a single upholstered bench seat to his left, with its back to the window. You can guess where I sat when I was in elementary school in the San Fernando Valley and rode the PE to my trumpet lessons in Van Nuys and to Hollywood to see live radio shows.
