Pacific Electric Railway 1947-49

More West Los Angeles PE freight operations at the intersection of Santa Monica and Sepulveda Blvds.  This was before freeways.  Sepulveda Blvd was the forerunner of I-405 and Santa Monica Blvd was the famous Highway 66.

From mid-1948 thru early 1950 I worked at the Mobil Service Station barely visible to the left of the locomotive.  I revisited this area in 2003 and a Mobile service station is still there!  It is surrounded by high rise buildings.  The tracks have been replaced by dense urban development.
