On Sept. 11, 2001, this county was rocked by unbelievably evil acts of terrorism. Many innocent lives were lost - American and otherwise. Americans were wrought with fear and pain and the overwhelming feeling of loss. Our loss was not only that of mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, siblings, friends and neighbors; it was the loss of our sense of freedom and security on our own soil. Out of this tragedy arose a renewed sense of patriotism and love of all our country stands for.
In furtherance of our "patriotic duty", my dad and I journeyed to New York City a month after the tragedy. The pictures and pages that follow are in no certain order and my narration won't be all that eloquent because some of the pictures speak for themselves. Period. Click the picture to begin. |
